Karnataka CET Exam Pattern 2014 Details for Admission and Selection

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted for providing admissions to candidates in different courses including engineering courses. The entrance is a state level exam usually held in the months of June/ July respectively. Exam Pattern for KCET 2014:

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state level entrance exam held in the objective modes for the following main topics:

1. Biology

2. Physics

3. Mathematics and

4. Chemistry

Total Marks Allotted: 240 (each paper of 60 Marks each)

Mode of Exam:

The candidates will be required to appear in a paper pencil test which will be held on two different days under four different sessions. The paper will contain objective type questions with multiple choice questions.

Marking Scheme:

The candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer marked by them. There will be no deduction of marks made for the incorrect questions attempted by the candidates.

Timing of Exam:

1. Mathematics: 02:30 pm to 03:50 pm

2. Physics: 10:30 am to 11:50 am

3. Chemistry: 02:30 pm to 03:50 pm and

4. Kannada Language Test: 11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Marking Criteria:

The applicants should score 12 marks out of 50 in order to qualify in the Kannada Language Paper. Apart from this, the candidates should score 60 marks in each paper so that they qualify in the exam.

Duration of Exam: 1 Hour 25 Minutes /80 Minutes

Modes of Examination:

The candidates should answer questions using Blue/ Black Ball Point Pens only. The candidates should darken the ovals of the OMR Sheet properly so that there evaluation gets completed accurately. The candidates shall be handed over the last sheet of the OMR only and the rest is taken by the invilgator for evaluation purposes.
